Asian Art Museum Blog » Breathing Flower comes to life in Civic Center Plaza.

Last week I brought a friend from Canada to visit the Civic Center Area and saw this big red lotus. We found that this is an installation of the new exhibition of the Asian Art Museum: “The Phantoms of Asia”. We went into the museum and enjoyed the exhibition very much. Today I found the AAM blog which includes the pictures (see above) behind the scene, showing how this installation comes to life. It is amazing!
Here’s the kinetic sculpture by artist Choi Jeong Hwa, “Breathing Flower”, with City Hall as the backdrop. This may be a sign of good fortune for the City and County of SF!

This outdoor piece is fantastic. I brought my friend from Canada to visit. Thank you for sharing how it was installed. I began to like modern art a bit more!
